Standardisasi Parameter Spesifik dan Non Spesifik Ekstrak Etanol Daun Kecombrang (Etlingera elatior (Jack) RM. Smith)

Abstract

Leaves kecombrang (Etlingera elatior (Jack) RM. Smith) was known to have many pharmacological effects such as hypoglycemic, antimicrobial, antifungal, antioxidant and others. Standardization of ethanol extract of leaves kecombrang done to control the quality and safety of the extract as a traditional medicine. Determination of quality standards and extracts specific parameters include non-specific parameter. The resulting extract was an extract of a thick, brown has bitter taste and smell caramel. Penetapan levels of compounds dissolved in the aqueous solvent extract kecombrang of ≤3.27% and for the concentration of substances dissolved in ethanol of ≤4.52%. Phytochemical screening showed the extract contains alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, saponins and tannins with the chromatogram pattern that indicates flavonoid compounds using quercetin comparison with the same Rf value, flavonoid content extract of s 0.198%, the moisture content of ≤9.64% density of 5% extract is 1,0127 g/ml. Total ash obtained ≤3,68% while the acid insoluble ash content of ≤2.83%. The total contaminant number of bacteria of 6.033 x 102 colony/g and without fungus growing, this result showed that the extract has been qualified.
