Antihyperglycemic Activity of Various Extracts of Jamblang (Syzygium Cumini) on White Rat
We reported the activity of jamblang (Syzygium cumini) bark extract as antihyperglycemic on rats. The goal of this study was to determine the effectiveness of S. cumini bark extract to decreasing glucose blood levels in hyperglycemic rats. Hyperglycemic rats induced by alloxan. Fifteen tails male rats were divided into 5 groups: negative control was given vehicle (Na.CMC), positive control (glibenclamide), group 23 to 5 were given ethanol 70% n-hexane, and ethyl acetate, respectively. The result showed that ethanol extract can decrease glucose blood level significantly to all treatment groups.
