Irritation Test of Lyophilisate Cream Of Silk Worn Cocoon (Bombyx mori L.) As A Moisturizer

Abstract

Cream preparations in addition to being physically stable and having good moisture effectiveness, must go through a safety test, one of which is the irritation test. This study aims to determine the presence or absence of irritating effects caused in the form of erythema and edema of silkworm cocoon waste water cream concentration of 1%. In this study, using an open and closed patch test method with 16 volunteers who had previously been applied lyophilisate cream waste water silkworm cocoon and base on the upper arm, then observed for 24, 48, and 72 hours and calculated its irritation index. The results showed that the irritation index obtained in both the open patch test and the closed patch test was 0, indicating that no volunteers experienced irritation after the use of silkworm cocoa water waste lyophilisate cream.
