Effectiveness Test Gel of Gotu Kola (Centella asitica L.Urban) as Wound Healing Drug

Abstract

Ethanol extract of gotu kola (Centella asiatica L. Urban) containing asiaticoside, that play a role in healing process. The use of extract directly has not thrilling, that need to formulation in the form of a gel. The study attempts to be done before a gel extract ethanol gotu kola herb a stable and effective against healing burns. A gel burn made in four formulas by concentration of the different Carbopol 940 0.5%, 1% 1,5% and 2%. Evaluation of a gel, covering the organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, inherent ability and viscosity. The stability the show the formulation is a F2. The effectiveness uses a gel with F2 effective against healing burns, the process occurred for 19 days with percentage healing is 96,5%.
